Choosing a licensed plumber in Perth
A cheap call-out is not a bargain if the gas is unlicensed, the quote was a guess, or nobody answers at 2am. Here is what we would ask if we were booking the work ourselves.
Licensed for the work you are actually booking
Plumbing repairs are one job. Gasfitting in WA has to be carried out by a licensed gasfitter — appliance connections, new gas points and leak repairs included. Fire hydrants, hose reels, pumps and tanks are a plumbing discipline as much as a safety one. Ask whether the same team can do the work, or whether you are about to coordinate three contractors.
Gas work is done by a licensed gasfitter and tested before we leave.
A quote you can compare
Straightforward jobs can be priced up front. For anything hidden behind a wall or under a slab, a competent plumber assesses it first so the scope and cost are clear before they commit. If two quotes are far apart, check whether they describe the same work.
Emergency visits are different. We stop the immediate problem first, then talk about cost before doing anything beyond making the property safe. That is not a blank cheque — it is the honest order of operations when water is going through a ceiling.
One number after hours
Ask what happens at 2am. If the 'emergency' line is a message bank, or a different company, you will find out on the worst night. Our office and emergency line are the same number: 0412 808 356, answered around the clock.
Office hours for planned work are Monday to Friday, 7:00am to 5:00pm. We cover Perth Metro and surrounding areas. If you are not sure we cover you, tell us the suburb and we will give you a straight answer.
Who stands behind the badge
Memberships are not a substitute for a licence, but they are a useful check that the business is visible to the trade. We are members of Master Plumbers WA, a Bronze member of FPA Australia, and a Waterwise partner.
If you manage more than plumbing — a backflow notice, a kitchen gas point, a hydrant that needs work — ask whether one contractor can hold the lot. That is the point of plumbing, gas and fire under one roof.

This page is general information for property owners and managers in Western Australia. It is not legal advice, and it is not a certificate for a particular building. Requirements vary by occupancy, the systems actually installed, and whoever is asking for the evidence.
For a quote on your property, send the job. We will look at what is actually there and price the work before we start wherever we can.
